Destinations are more than their geographical location. They are brands that convey concepts, attributes and positioning, all of which shape their image. The most competitive destinations are those capable of enhancing and effectively communicating their intangible assets.
In this context, Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal, in partnership with QSP and world-renowned city marketing strategist Nico Mulder, developed the Destination’s Quick Scan – an introductory study that, as its name suggests, provides a concise overview of a destination’s tourism landscape.
Based on information and insights provided by municipalities, combined with the expertise of our consultants, the study delivers a brief yet structured analysis of the destination, its endogenous and exogenous resources, and outlines a suitable strategic vision grounded in inspirational benchmarking and industry best practices.
This study serves as a first step and may subsequently be further developed into a Tourism Marketing Strategic Plan, providing strategic guidelines and recommended practical actions at both national and international levels, aimed at building a strong, sustainable and competitive destination brand.
